National Day of the American Cowboy celebration

in conjunction with the 99th Annual Hyattville Old Timer’s Day

 

Saturday, July 26, 2008                 Hyattville, Wyoming

 

 

Old Timer’s Picnic / Dance Ribbons are $4 each.  All other events FREE.

                                 

 Bring your lawn chairs and branding irons, and come enjoy the day.

12:30 pm                      Old Timer’s Speaker & Announce Old Timer’s Cowboy King & Queen 2008 & Attendants

 

 

In Downtown Hyattville

 

2:00 pm – 2:45 pm       Clay Gibbons’ historical presentation “Spring Creek Raid”

 

2:00 pm – 3:00 pm       Hub Whitt playing cowboy music

3:00 pm – 5:00 pm       Hyattville Old Timer’s Celebration Horse Races

                                                    440 yd, 220 yd, gaited horse, mini-chuck wagon & mule races.  Calcutta on all races.  $500 added money, plus entry fees.

5:00 pm                        Parade Line Up near racetrack (where logging road heads up mountain).

Horse-drawn vehicles are encouraged, automobiles and floats permitted.  Entries may throw candy.  Parade route 1.3 miles long.

                                                    Bring your branding irons to brand a log that will be donated to the Hyattville Community Center.

 

7:00 pm – 7:45 pm       Danny Many Horses Storytelling

            

7:30 pm                        Worn-Out Cowboy Boot Contest

                                                    Wear your most worn-out western boots for the contest.

                                                    Winner of men’s & women’s divisions receive $50 gift certificate for new boots!

 

7:45 pm                        Announce Contest Winners

 

8:30 pm – 12:30 am     Street Dance music provided by the band Undesided in Hyattville
